A noisy sleeper risks far more than simply annoying their partner. Snoring can be a sign of a struggle to get enough oxygen at night.
Snoring is a common symptom of sleep apnea, a breathing disorder in which a person stops breathing for many seconds during sleep. That pause causes oxygen levels in the sleeper’s blood to drop and that results in stress and inflammation.
For patients with sleep apnea, we create a custom oral appliance to improve breathing and oxygenation while sleeping. That can be the start of more restful, healthful sleep every night.
We also provide patients with custom-designed night guards, a mouthpiece that prevents excessive wear resulting from teeth-grinding during sleep.
